YCU Matching Envelope Challenge!

This was a really cool challenge(Young Crafters Unite) to do because I never thought about decorating the envelope before!  It's kind of hard to see in the picture but the design inside the heart matches the design on the flap of the envelope.  I learned today that baby blue ink is hard to photograph!

My boyfriend has drill this weekend, so I made this card to give to him before he leaves for a few days!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Happy 21st Birthday to my Best Friend Jessica!
A few weeks ago there was a Simon Says Challenge with multiple folds, but I couldn't participate because I had to write a paper :( so here is what I came up with later!  You can't see it in the picture(its bad I know, sorry) but I used glimmer mist to color the different circles.  The whole card sparkles!

Happy Birthday Mom!

I made this card for my mom's birthday and to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge for this week.  The Challenge is to use a song or movie in your creation.  I thought this paper was perfect!  I tried my best to  make it look like old ripped sheet music, I just hope my mom likes it!

Purse Inspired Card!

Last week in Sunday School my friend Katie's purse caught my eye.  I just looked like a really cool card idea, so I tried it out!  I used 4 pieces of scrap paper for this card.  I first cut them to be the same size, then I put distress ink on the edges, and distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz Paper distresser.  Next I sewed the strips together and decorated!

On the inside I used a Jillian Vance Design Stamp.  I love these stamps because they are great for the insides of cards and have wonderful Faith based sayings!  The best part is that I was able to use rewards from my credit card to get the sets for free!

Get Well Alligator Card

I made this card for my boyfriends grandfather when he was in the hospital last week.  This represents my best effort at making a boy/masculine card!  I find it really hard to create when I'm not allowed to use flowers or glitter or anything else girly for that matter!  So I decided to use this alligator from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge because the cards recipient paints a lot of swamp scenes.  I hope he liked it!  Now to work on improving my masculine card making abilities!

My First Challenge!

I decided I would try a challenge for the first time ever, and I must say that I now understand why they are so popular!  I had so much fun with it!  The challenge was to color a stamped image, which I wasn't sure about because I don't have any copics, color pencils, or a huge variety of distress inks (I'm a poor college student!).  However, I do have some Faber Castelle Gelatos (they were on sale for $20 on HSN a while back!).  Previously I had trouble using them, they are waxy/creamy like a crayon, but they come in a chapstick like tube.  For this card I embossed the stamped flower and then rubbed the different colors of Gelato over the embossed image.  Then I rubbed the Gelatos in and blended with my finger.  I'm excited with the results!

Engagement Card!

Congratulations to my friends Katie and Brandt on their engagement!  I made this for their engagement party last week.  I finally got to use this cut off of the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge!
